Job Description

The Manager, Strategic Partnerships will assist Nickerson’s senior leadership team with managing and closing various business development opportunities, including relationship-building, follow-up and the development of proposals and pitch presentations for potential client-partners. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for supporting the agency’s growth and reporting to senior leadership. They will be adept at responding to inquiries and proactively pursuing opportunities, as well as helping to secure expanded scope within our existing client-partner network. You’ll move fast, operate with discipline, and work within our systems to maintain and build a pipeline that scales.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential opportunities and align partnerships with Nickerson’s organizational goals
  • Pursue and close new business opportunities in target sectors
  • Leverage existing network(s) to generate introductions and accelerate pipeline development
  • Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualifying, pitching, negotiating, and closing
  • Maintain Nickerson Salesforce CRM/database as source of truth for pipeline management
  • Manage the development of proposals and presentations in conjunction with Nickerson’s creative services team, with guidance from Nickerson’s senior leadership team
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless client-partner onboarding and long-term account success
  • Conduct routine check-ins with current client-partners to identify new business opportunities, ensure retention
  • Provide support with research and preparation for all business development calls
  • Exercise strong judgement and ability to manage relationships, emails, and communications with potential new client-partners
  • Prepare and deliver business development status reports to Nickerson’s senior leadership team
  • Support contract negotiations and execution when applicable
  • Actively participate in various industry organizations, conferences, events to drive business development efforts
  • Hold leadership role(s) outside of Nickerson to build and maintain target sector relationships
  • Foster a sense of culture across team and agency

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of current experience required in a directly related business development role
  • Proven track record of company growth through your business development efforts
  • Advanced verbal communications, presentation and project management skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail
  • Strategic and creative thinker, self-starter and team player willing to invest time and effort to get the job done
  • Competence in Microsoft computer programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and OneDrive
  • Skilled with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce and CRM management required
  • Experience with Teamwork or other project management software preferred
  • Understanding of commercial real estate industry/built environment preferred

Compensation:

  • $70,000-$85,000 plus commission
